James F. Gilsinan, Ph.D.
Position(s): Dr. Gilsinan is Dean of the College of Public Service and a Professor of urban sociology and criminal Justice.
About Dr. Gilsinan: He has degrees from Loyola University of Chicago (B.S. and M.A., Sociology) and the University of Colorado, Boulder (Ph.D., Sociology). He has published numerous articles on criminal justice, evaluation methodology, and the philosophy of science. He is the author of two books, Doing Justice: How the System Works as Seen by the Participants (Prentice-Hall, 1982) and Public Policy and Criminology: An Introduction (Prentice-Hall, 1990).
Interests and Experiences in Organizational Learning: Dr. Gilsinan has procured or been involved in over $3 million of funded research dealing with a variety of organizational issues, particularly affecting organizations in the public and not- for-profit sectors. Dr. Gilsinan has also consulted widely with various organizations both in the public and private sectors on fostering leadership and system change.
